This is the second part of a two-course series, that will further explore the remaining 6 organ systems in the human body and their respond to disease. Students learn about the compensatory changes that occur from the disease process - the pathophysiological processes and the effect they can have on a person. Students learn the structure (anatomy), normal functions of the human body (physiology) and major pathophysiological mechanisms underlying common diseases (pathophysiology) of the nervous, reproductive, and urinary systems from the perspective of modern medicine. By the end of the course, students will have a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of the body’s systems and the pathophysiological basis of common diseases.
