Prerequisites: CANM 283 or (CANM 284 + CANM 288 ) Prior skills or knowledge required: Basic computer skills Software/hardware required: Adobe Creative Cloud license; additional camera equipment

This is an advanced video editing course where students learn the fundamental artistic elements of video editing. In this course, students learn a variety of techniques such as rhythm, flow, the ability to enhance an actor’s performance through editing, visual storytelling, methodology for keyboard shortcuts, and accelerating the editing process. We build on the Video Editing course and take it to the next level. Students integrate the principle that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and that every element of filmmaking finds its fulfillment in the cut. (may be repeated for credit).
