Program Description

The Bachelor of Arts in Consciousness and Human Potential program covers major themes in Maharishi Vedic Science, including higher states of consciousness, collective consciousness, Sanskrit and reading the Vedic literature in Sanskrit, and surveys of all the Consciousness-Based technologies offered by Maharishi Vedic Science.

Four source documents in Maharishi Vedic Science are the foundation for this program, including Maharishi Mahesh Yogi on the Bhagavad Gītā (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, 2019) Science of Being and Art of Living (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, 2016), Vedic Knowledge for Everyone (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, 1995), and Consciousness is All There Is (Tony Nader, MD, PhD, 2024).

Students also develop their writing and speaking skills to be able to apply principles of consciousness and human potential to the areas of health, education, management, and rehabilitation. The Senior Capstone project is a one- to two-month integrative writing exercise to unify the various themes of the student’s academic experience in the program and at MIU.

Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course (TTC)

Students who have successfully completed a minimum of 1 year of coursework in the College of Maharishi Vedic Science may apply to take the Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course to learn how to effortlessly transform their own students’ lives toward greater peace and well-being while accelerating their own development of consciousness and contributing to the growth of peace and happiness in our nation and the world.

Students may be awarded academic credit for the completion of TTC under a contractual agreement with Maharishi European Research University (MERU), Netherlands, a non-accredited, non-federal-aid-eligible organization which controls applications and acceptance to the course, course cost, and course content.
