Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successfully completing all requirements for the BAAS Specialization in Yoga Teacher Training, students will be able to:
- Develop an inner understanding of the state of Yoga and the practices of Yoga (asana and pranayama) through your own direct experience.
- Produce clear and refined verbal, visual, and hands-on cueing into, during, and out of the practices of Yoga (asana and pranayama).
- Modify the practices of Yoga (asana and pranayama) safely with attention to anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics through the use of propping and therapeutic adaptations.
- Synthesize your studies in Maharishi Vedic Sciences and/or Maharishi Ayurveda with the practices of Yoga (asana and pranayama) into thematic classes, series, and programs.
- Prepare the foundation of your role as a Professional Yoga Teacher who acts ethically and safely.
- Summarize your direction and goals after graduation, which include business, continuing education plans and registration as an RYT200 designation with Yoga Alliance.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a BAAS Specialization in Yoga Teacher Training, students must successfully complete 30 credits of required courses, including 22 credits of online courses, 4 credits of in-residence Yoga Teacher Training courses on campus at MIU, and 4 credits for the final capstone course.
