Program Description
The BA in Enlightened Leadership program introduces students to the best practices of leadership inspired by the ideal of a leader with fully developed consciousness. This interdisciplinary program, drawing on courses from across the MIU undergraduate curriculum, offers knowledge and experience in areas that will be valuable in whatever capacity a graduate chooses to lead.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successfully completing the Bachelor of Arts in Enlightened Leadership, students will be able to:
- Recognize and take responsibility for their own development of consciousness.
- Explain the scientific research that validates the benefits of practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique and the TM-Sidhi program.
- Demonstrate a working understanding of statistics and research design.
- Explain the background theory of human development and collective consciousness.
- Demonstrate leadership and teamwork, especially in the context of thriving small and large non-profit organizations and projects.
- Develop written and oral communication skills.
- Use social media software and systems to establish and maintain a public presence for oneself, one’s projects, and the organizations one might work for.
- Identify and explain Maharishi’s unique contributions to the modern understanding of consciousness and human development.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a BA in Enlightened Leadership, students must successfully complete 128 credits of study, including the Exploring Consciousness course required for all undergraduate students, 8 credits of Writing for Career and Community, one Forest Academy course in each semester in which the student is enrolled for 12 weeks or more, and 54 credits of required Enlightened Leadership coursework.
