Program Description
Building upon the introductory concepts covered in undergraduate physics, the one-year MS in Foundations of Physics and Consciousness provides a fundamental, graduate-level exploration of the principles, techniques, and applications of the central themes in physics and cosmology. Special attention is given to the Consciousness-Based perspective and its implications for the foundations of physics.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the MS in Foundations of Physics and Consciousness, students will be able to:
- Solve problems in the foundations of theoretical physics.
- Explain current problems and anomalies at the frontiers of physics.
- Articulate the deep compatibility of science and spirituality as found in the work of Dr. John Hagelin and Dr. Tony Nader.
- Explain the special issues relating to the science of consciousness and especially how progress on the deepest issues of contemporary physics can be addressed from the consciousness-based perspective.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a MS in Foundations of Physics and Consciousness, students must successfully complete a total of 38 credits of study, including the 4-credit Science of Creative Intelligence course required for all graduate students, one 4-credit Physics and Consciousness course, 20 credits of core Physics courses, and 8 credits of graduate level electives in physics or complementary disciplines, such as mathematics, computer science, or Maharishi Vedic Science.Students must also complete one Forest Academy course in each semester in which the student is enrolled for 12 weeks or more.
