Introduction

With degree programs available on-campus in Fairfield, Iowa, or fully online, the Department of Applied Arts and Sciences takes special advantage of the interdisciplinary thinking cultivated at MIU, where the study of Maharishi’s Science of Creative Intelligence and the Science and Technology of Consciousness reveal the fundamental principles of intelligence and consciousness at the basis of all disciplines.

• The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree program is designed with a wide range of courses to support students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degree by transferring credit from other universities.
• The flexible schedule and online availability of courses mean that students with jobs and family can earn a bachelor’s degree while continuing with their present responsibilities by studying at their own pace, either full-time or part-time.
• Online courses include live-streamed webinars and online forums that give students opportunities to interact with faculty and other students. Coursework can generally be completed in 12-14 hours on weekends.
• The Individualized Major bachelor’s degree program allows students to take ownership of their learning by designing their own interdisciplinary curriculum of study.
