CANM 291 - Creative Filmmaking 2 Credits: 4 Prerequisites: Creative Filmmaking 1 Delivery mode: On campus Fees: Lab Fee: $40 Degree/Program: CANM A collaborative introduction to the practice of narrative filmmaking. Drawing on the technical skills developed in Creative Filmmaking 1, students work in small production crews to plan, shoot, and complete a scene-level film project. Each student assumes a defined crew role - such as director, cinematographer, sound recordist, or gaffer - and participates in all phases of the production process. The primary project requires students to select and faithfully recreate an approximately five-minute scene from an existing film, with attention to visual continuity, performance direction, and production coordination. The course emphasizes creative problem-solving, professional communication, and collaborative workflow.
