ART 353 - Sculptural Clay

Exploring Values of Wholeness
Credits: 4
Prerequisites: ART 217, or ART 352, or ART 340, or instructor consent.
Delivery mode: On campus
Fees: $45-60
Students are exposed to the experience of the different properties of clay and its expressive potential. Supporting the skill, materials, and specific processes involved in working with clay, this course will focus on space as a primary consideration in the organization and development of sculpture. Parallel to studio work, readings and videos will expand and deepen a critical understanding of sculpture as it relates to consciousness, both historically and in contemporary work. Students deliver a group of works that demonstrate the above and presentations on chosen topics related to sculpture.
