FOR 215 - Animal Architecture Nature’s Intelligence Credits: 1 Delivery mode: Online This course will look into the material and spatial design genius of the creatures of the earth that are not human. We will learn about the strength and flexibility of spider webs, the built-in air conditioning systems of termite colonies, the orderly intelligence of bee hives, the complex workings and consequences of beaver dens, and more. In this class students will have the opportunity to de-center the human lens and admire and learn from the diverse design creativity of insects, animals, and even an unexpected star of form and function-Slime Mold.
