Students explore the structure, biosynthesis, and classification of aromatic molecules across the sixteen biochemical families, and examine how these molecular structures relate to therapeutic properties, physiological effects, and clinical indications. Emphasis is placed on understanding essential oils through multiple lenses, including chemical composition, Ayurvedic principles, and psycho-emotional effects.
A unique component of this course includes weekly live essential oil experience sessions, where students directly engage with aromatic substances and observe their effects through self-pulse awareness and experiential reflection, deepening their understanding of how essential oils influence the body, mind, and consciousness.
Students are required to purchase an essential oils kit to support participation in weekly experiential learning sessions.
