MGT 5111 - EQ Lab I Expanded Consciousness as the Basis of Ideal Behavior Credits: 1 Co-requisites: MGT 5250, MGT 5521, MGT 5828, MGT 5522 Delivery mode: Online The first in a series of three Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Lab courses that form the experiential element of the Master of Arts in Consciousness-Based Leadership and Coaching. This course operates on what we call “The Assignment Way of Living,” in which you learn new skills and consciously try out new behaviors to facilitate your own emergence as a foundation for being able to facilitate the emergence of those you coach and lead in other contexts. At the same time, others in your cohort are also challenging their old beliefs and behaviors and begin to experiment with their own new ways of being. As you participate in this group learning experience, you will be learning the foundational skill of how to be present to yourself as you are also present with others in a shared process of transformative growth and learning. During the two years of this course, some of the skills you learn and apply include: to identify, name, and responsibly and fully express emotions; to regulate emotional expression; to practice effective self-care; to engage in conflict productively, and to be clear about desires and intentions; to identify unmet developmental needs and develop the skills to address them; to even more deeply tell the truth; to become aware of and effectively express judgments; to be clear about desires and intentions and to fulfill these, especially in coaching and leadership. By developing these skills, you build a greater sense of self-acceptance and a growing capacity for rapport and intimacy in all the relationships in your life. You are also experiencing the progressive process of your own emergence and the realization of your full potential Self, which will support your development as an effective coach, educator, and leader throughout the MA Program and beyond. The Science of Creative Intelligence will be integrated throughout the lab.
