This advanced course focuses on integrating ecological principles into planting design. Students will explore techniques for creating plantings that support essential ecosystem services such as stormwater management, habitat creation, ecological resilience, and resource efficiency. Emphasis will be placed on balancing environmental functionality with human needs. Through hands-on class projects, students will learn how to select appropriate plants and materials, draft detailed planting plans, and develop maintenance schedules to ensure successful project implementation and long-term sustainability.
