CANM 233 - Digital Music Production Waves of Creativity Credits: 4 Prerequisites: Prior skills or knowledge required: Basic computer skills Software required: Ableton Live 11 Delivery mode: On-Campus and Online Fees: Lab fee: $20 if enrolled on-campus With modern music recording and production being more accessible than ever, anyone with a computer can share the melodies in their head with the world. Be it a symphony or the next number one hit single, students learn to use Ableton Live as their music creation software to bring their musical ideas to life. Students learn to navigate the Ableton live interface, create unique songs using samples and learn the foundational built in tools to create their own unique songs. Minor knowledge of music preferred. Students learn basic compositional techniques as well as production and sound engineering methods to bring as much clarity to their vision as possible. May be repeated for credit.
