CANM 230 - Podcasting Mastering the Message Credits: 4 Prerequisites: Prior skills or knowledge required: Basic computer skills Delivery mode: On-Campus and Online Fees: Lab fee for On-Campus course: $20 Podcasting has become an increasingly popular and universal way to tell stories and discuss the important issues of our time. In this course, students can create a podcast episode or series that explores a subject of interest to them. They will also be asked to listen to podcast series to appreciate and analyze what makes a podcast series compelling for an audience. Students will also learn industry-standard podcasting tools and audio recording fundamentals. A creative process will be at the heart of the course. The student will write a proposal for a podcast, research and plan it, then record and edit the podcast using suitable software. The goal is to publish the podcast on widely used podcast platforms. Students also research various podcasting styles to expand their definition of audio storytelling and to help them develop their unique voice. May be repeated for credit.
