AG 342 - Explorations In Applied Ethnobotany Rooting our Relationships with Plants Credits: 4 Prerequisites: Academic Background Required: 40 college credits Delivery mode: Online Many of us are interested in learning more about plants and bringing them into our lives as local medicines, wild foods, and creative materials for arts such as weaving and dyeing. We often look to traditional Indigenous knowledge for guidance, but we find that, if we are not members of the Indigenous community, pursuing traditional knowledge can be problematic for both ethics and genuine understanding. In this course, we approach learning about Indigenous plant knowledge through the practice of relationality by, first, situating ourselves using the lens of heritage/ancestry.
